So what else is new? All my family members are doing what I'm doing; trying not to get the virus. So far, we haven't caught the virus, but my heart goes out to those that have been ill and perhaps have lost a loved one.
I feel like a sitting duck, just waiting for something to happen. I watch a lot of National Geographic on TV showing how the big cats of Africa hunt and choose their prey. The innocent victims may show signs of being skittish, but they continue browsing; their alertness doesn't save them. They're goners when a big cat strikes.
We have found new ways to amuse ourselves while we wait for a virus vaccine. We have started a 'Ruth Stout' garden. We even have several chickens. We started out with 3 chickens and a small chicken house. The man at the feed store make the little house which looks like a doll house and helped us turn an area of the dog run into a chicken area.
After we had settled down from that excitement, the feed man called and said he had a couple of Banty hens and a Banty rooster that he'd sell for only 5 dollars. Remembering what fun it was many years ago when we had a Banty rooster we named The General because he strutted around the yard like he owned the place, we bought the Bantys. Now we get 5 or 6 eggs every day.
