Dads brother – is flying high in Houston
While sister's being borned …
… in the land of the Angels

Dad wheels and deals – rollin' on rubber wheels
Mom rubs elbows working with the great and famous
For only ½ the pay – of all the men there by the way
Art is struggling – for mom – and for dad

I start down – that lost ol' Jericho road
soon questioning – the great unknowns
Chance and Luck – are my best pals
well-springs – in supporting roles
both or all alone – this ancient story – old old old

Banjo from the mountains – banjo from the city …
makes a big racket – but don't it sound purty !
dulcet dulcimers – Berea, Cumberland's Gap
Appalachian adventures – far off the maps
But wait ! … open that Golden Gate …
here I come – feets do your stuff .. I cant wait …

Heading for Californ'
on the road again sure as you're born !
New adventures await in far off Cali
